This is to inform all the students and members of staff of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede (NEKEDEPOLY), that the management of the institution has released the academic calendar for the 2020/2021 Session.

The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede is a federal government-owned higher institution located in Nekede, Owerri West local government area in Imo State, South-Eastern Nigeria. It was established on a temporary site at the premise of Government Technical College by the Imo State government in 1978 as College of Technology, Owerri before it was moved to its present location in Nekede. On 7 April 1993, the polytechnic was changed to a federal government institution and was renamed “The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede”. The Federal Polytechnic, Nekede offers National Diploma and Higher National Diploma courses at undergraduate levels.

Federal Polytechnic Nekede (NEKEDEPOLY) academic calendar contains all important academic activities that have been scheduled to take place in the University for the 2020/2021 academic session. All students and lecturers of the school are hereby informed.
According to the Calendar, academic activities will commence on Saturday 24th July, 2021 and end on Wednesday, 22nd December, 2021.

At the 579th Meeting (Emergency) of the Academic Board held on Monday, 12th July, 2021, the Board deliberated on the Tentative Academic Calendar for 2020/2021 Academic Session, and gave its approval as stated below:
FIRST SEMESTER
- Saturday, 24th July, 2021 – STUDENTS ARRIVAL
- Monday, 26th July, 2021 – LECTURES BEGIN
- Wednesday, 11th August, 2021 – ORIENTATION
- Saturday, 14th August, 2021 – MATRICULATION
- Sunday, 12th September, 2021 – LECTURES END
- Monday, 13th September, 2021 – EXAMS BEGIN
- Sunday, 10th October, 2021 – EXAMS END
SECOND SEMESTER
- Monday, 11th October, 2021 – LECTURE BEGINS
- Wednesday, 10th November, 2021 – STUDENT WEEK BEGINS
- Sunday, 14th November 2021 – STUDENTS WEEK ENDS
- Sunday, 28th November, 2021 – LECTURES END
- Monday, 29th November, 2021 – EXAMS BEGIN
- Wednesday, 22nd December, 2021 – EXAMS END
