This is to inform all the students and members of staff of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), that the management of the institution has released the academic calendar for the 2020/2021 Session.

University of Calabar (UNICAL) is a Federal Government owned University established in 1975. The university was located in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. University of Calabar offer various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. It is one of Nigeria’s second generation federal universities. The University of Calabar was a campus of the University of Nigeria until 1975.

University of Calabar Academic Calendar for the 2020/2021 academic session has been uploaded online

University of Calabar, (UNICAL) academic calendar contains all important academic activities that have been scheduled to take place in the University for the 2020/2021 academic session. All students and lecturers of the school are hereby informed.

According to the Calendar, academic activities will commence on Monday 13th September, 2021 and end on Saturday 30th July, 2022.

SEPTEMBER, 2021

  • Monday 13th – Arrival of New students/Registration
  • Wednesday 15th – INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Monday 20th – SOLEMN ASSEMBLY
  • Tuesday 21st – 23rd – Orientation for New Students
  • Friday 24th – 27th – Screening for new Students
  • Monday 27th – Lectures commence for New Students
  • Wednesday 29th – INAUGURAL LECTURE

OCTOBER, 2021

  • Monday 4th – Returning Students arrive on Campus and begin registration
  • Friday 8th – MATRICULATION
  • Monday 11th – Lectures commence for returning students
  • Tuesday, 12th – End of Registration for new students
  • Wednesday, 13th – Late registration for new students
  • Wednesday 13th – INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Wednesday 27th – INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Wednesday, 27TH – Late registration ends for new students

NOVEMBER, 2021

  • Wednesday, 3rd – End of registration for returning students
  • Thursday, 4th – Late registration begins for returning students
  • Wednesday 9th – INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Wednesday 17th– INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Friday, 19th – Late registration ends for returning students
  • Monday, 22nd – Friday, 26th – Continuous assessment for all

DECEMBER, 2021

  • Wednesday 15th – INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Tuesday 22nd – Christmas break

JANUARY, 2022

  • Monday 3rd – All students arrive on Campus
  • Friday 7th – Lectures end for all students
  • Monday 10th– Wednesday12th – Exams for Pre-Degree students
  • Wednesday 12th– INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Thursday 13th– Tuesday, 18th – Exams for all GSS courses
  • Wednesday, 19th – First Semester Exams begin for all except CES Students
  • Wednesday 26th – INAUGURAL LECTURE

FEBRUARY, 2022

  • Friday 4th– First Semester Exams end for all except CES Students
  • Wednesday 9th– INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Monday 7th -11th – First Semester exams for CES Students
  • Friday, 18th – 23rd– SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMS
  • Wednesday, 23rd – INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Thursday, 24th – End of first semester and all students depart

SUMMARY:
Lectures – 12 weeks
Exams – 4 weeks (Excluding Supplementary exams)
Total – 16 weeks

SECOND SEMESTER:

FEBRUARY, 2022

  • Sunday 27th – Students arrive on Campus
  • Monday, 28th – Lectures begin for all

MARCH, 2022

  • Tuesday, 19th – Monday, 25th – Continuous assessments for all students

  • Friday, 27th – Lecture ends for all students
  • Monday, 30th – Exams begin for Pre-Degree Students

  • Friday, 3rd – Exam ends for Pre-Degree Students
  • Friday, 3rd – Saturday, 11th – Exams for GSS Courses
  • Monday, 13th – Examsbegin for all students except CES
  • Wednesday, 15th – INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Wednesday, 29th – INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Thursday, 30th – Exams end for other students except CES

JULY, 2022

  • Friday, 1st to 5th – Exams for all CES Students
  • Wednesday, 13th – INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Monday, 18th to Friday, 22nd – SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMS
  • Wednesday, 27th – INAUGURAL LECTURE
  • Monday, 25th to Friday, 29th – SUMMER/LONG VACATION exams
  • Saturday 30th – End of second semester and all students depart.
