Bayero University Kano (BUK) is a university situated in Kano, Kano State, Nigeria. It was founded in 1975, when it was renamed from Bayero University College and upgraded from university college to university. It is the first university in Kano State. The university offer various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The management of the Bayero University, Kano has released the cut-off mark for the 2024/2025 admission exercise. BUK general Post-UTME minimum cut-off mark for the 2024/2025 academic session is 180 and above depending on the programme.
This will be the JAMB score that will be used for admission into BUK for the 2024/2025 academic session.

Due to the high number of students wishing to study at the federal university, the admission processes are competitive and an admission is given based on JAMB score and O’level grades.
BUK Departmental Cut Off Mark
Departmental cut off mark is the minimum cut off mark for admission into various departments in a particular University.
The school authorities of the Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has pegged 240 and above cut-off points for programmes in the Faculties of Clinical Sciences and Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences at 230 and above, while Faculties of Allied Health Sciences and Law have their cut off points from 200 and above.
The cut-off points for programmes in other faculties are 180 and above. They are:- Agriculture, Arts and Islamic Studies, Basic Medical Sciences, Communication, Computer Science and Information Technology, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Education and Engineering. Others are Life Sciences, Management Sciences, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences.
Similarly, as was the case last year, the cut-off mark for Blind candidates (ONLY) who applied to be admitted into the University is 160 and above.

Note: The cut off mark for each varies depending on the performance of candidates who applied to study in the school for that year
Bayero University Kano Post UTME Eligibility.
- Candidates who score exactly or above the required cut off mark.
- Candidates who chose Bayero University, Kano as their preferred choice of institution during the UTME Registration.
- Candidates are also required to obtain the required O’level credits for their programmes as specified in JAMB Brochure.
- Candidate must be at least 16 year of age
- Interested candidates who did not choose Bayero University, Kano During the UTME Registration and wish to to study in the University, should change to the BUK via JAMB website.
