The school management of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) has released the cut jamb off mark for the 2020/2021 academic session admission exercise.

This will be the JAMB score that will be used for admission into RUGIPO for the 2020/2021 academic session.

Rufus Giwa Polytechnic which was formerly known and addressed as “The Ondo State Polytechnic,Owo” was established in 1979 while it commenced activities in January 1980. The primary mandate of the Institution as concieved by the Ondo State Government being its proprietor stillremains of middle-level manpower in Science and Technology related fields of study as part of efforts aimed at an effective development of Technology in Ondo State in particular and Nigeria in general.


Cut off mark is an agreed score set by a particular institution as a basics of admitting students into the department of study. This score is usually accredited to candidates based on their performance in a particular examination. However, students who have scored above the required cut off mark will be given admission and preferentially treated in admission process above those who have met the exacts cut off mark.


To be eligible to participate in RUGIPO Post UTME screening exercise, you must have scored 120 and above in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Only candidates that scored 120 and above in the 2020 Unified Teritary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) are invited to apply and participate in the screening exercise

Important information/Notice

  • If you scored exactly or above RUGIPO cut off mark, that means you are qualified and eligible to take the Post UTME screening exercise, but if you score below cut off mark that means you are not qualified or eligible for the post UTME screening exercise.
  • It is very easy to obtain admission if one has met the required cut off mark for admission into a particular course.


Candidates are enjoined to visit the Portal of the Polytechnic ( for further information and register after paying through UNIFIED PAYMENTS PLATFORM with the use of master card or verve card in any Commercial Bank throughout the country for Screening fee, Administrative fee and portal fee to access the Website with effect from Thursday, 11th July, 2020.

Meanwhile, the screening fee is Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000.00) only. Applicants for the screening exercise are also requested to upload the following items of information:

(i) JAMB Data (with score)

(ii) Ordinary Level results (WAEC, NECO, GCE and NABTEB)

(iii) Passport photograph

(iv) Candidates are also to upload their ‘O’level result(s) on JAMB CAPS before final consideration for admission

Candidates are advised to print their admission screening forms and the dates for their Post- UTME tests on or before 3rd October, 2020.

The screening exercise shall hold between 8th and 11th October, 2020.
