Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) also known as NAU in short is a Federal Government owned University established in 1991. It consists of two campuses in Anambra State. Its main campus is located in the capital of Anambra State, Awka while the second campus is located at Nnewi. Agulu and Ifite-Ogwuari, Anambra State are premises under Awka campus. Nnamdi Azikiwe University offer various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. It is one of the federal universities which are overseen and accredited by the National Universities Commission. The university is named after Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe.

  • Arts – Igbo, African& Asian Studies, History & International Studies, Linguistics, Music, Philosophy, Modern European Languages, Religion & Human Relations, Theatre and Film Studies, and Chinese Studies.
  • Education – All programmes except Edu/English and Edu/Economics
  • Engineering – Agric & Bioresources Engineering, Polymer &Textiles Engineering.
  • Environmental Sciences – Only Architecture
  • Physical Sciences – Mathematics, Geological Sciences, Pure and Industrial Chemistry, Physics and Statistics.

Programmes with 160 Cut off

  • Environmental Sciences – Building, Quantity Surveying & Geoinformatics, Fine and Applied Arts, Environmental Management, Estate Management.

Note: The cut off mark for each varies depending on the performance of candidates who applied to study in the school for that year.

How To Calculate Your UNIZIK Aggregate/Average Score

To know your average score is quite easy, simply follow the guideline and example outlined below carefully to check yours.

4X Your UNIZIK Post UTME Score =?

? + Your JAMB Score=??

?? ÷ 2 = your average score

EXAMPLE:

Your Post UTME Score = 70

Your JAMB Score = 190

SOLUTION:

4 X 70 = 280

280 + 190 = 470

470 ÷ 2 = 235

Your Aggregate/Average Score is 235 and this is what determines if you are up to your departmental cut off mark.

N/B: It is very easy to obtain admission if one has met the required cut off mark for admission into a particular course.

UNIZIK Post UTME Eligibility:

  • Candidates who score exactly or above 160 cut off mark
  • Candidates who chose Nnamdi Azikiwe University as their First Choice of institution during the UTME Registration
  • Candidates with a minimum of (5) O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects (including English Language and Mathematics) at GCE O’Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents at not more than 2 sittings.
  • Candidate must be at least 16 year of age
  • Interested Candidates who did not choose Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka as their First Choice of Institution during the UTME Registration but wish to study in the University and scored 160 & above in the 2021 UTME, should change to the UNIZIK via JAMB website.
