The University of Ibadan (UI) is the oldest Nigerian university. The origins of the university are in Yaba College, founded in 1932 in Yaba, Lagos,as the first tertiary educational institute in Nigeria. Yaba College was transferred to Ibadan, becoming the University College of Ibadan, in 1948. The university was founded on its own site on 17 November 1948. It is popularly known as Unibadan or UI.
When you apply to a particular university especially through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) either for full time or direct entry and you check your JAMB CAPs or JAMB Portal and discovered that you have been admitted, then the first step to take is to Accept or Reject the Admission give to you by JAMB

Newly admitted students are all advised to go through the information provided below to confirm the acceptance fee to be paid by all fresh students of University of Ibadan.
University of Ibadan (UI) Admission Acceptance Fee Amount
All successfully admitted Candidates who have accepted / printed their letters of admission are expected to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of Thirty Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Naira only (N37,500.00) only using the approved payment mode on http://admissions.ui.edu.ng
All freshers are to pay this fee as soon as they confirm their names on the admission list but please note that the fee could change and this is at the discretion of the management of the university. So it is advised you reconfirm before making payment online.

How To Check UI Admission Status
Candidates are to upload the following documents:
- An Institution’s copy of the Admission Letter
- WAEC/NECO Scratch card with the pin No. and Serial No. clearly displayed
- Clear O’Level result
- Duly filled JAMB Form 003 (This can be downloaded from the Admission Portal
Candidates whose admission has been approved, but yet to be accepted are advised to proceed to Jamb Portal to accept the offer on CAPS. They cannot pay the acceptance fee until they have accepted and printed their admission letters.

UI Acceptance Fee Payment Procedure
Kindly Follow the University of Ibadan admission acceptance fee payment procedures outlined below carefully:
Payment Options:
- Card Payment using your ATM card
- Cash at Bank
- Generate a REFERENCE NUMBER from the payment gateway by logging in to admissions.ui.edu.ng to generate it. (NOTE: The candidate MUST login first)
- Take the printout to bank for payment
- Return to UI admission portal to REQUERY or SYNCHRONIZE (SYNC) the transaction by clicking the SYNC button on the student dashboard
- Internet Banking
- Direct Account
- Select the Direct Account Option
- Select your bank from banks drop down menu
- Click on Continue Button
- Follow instructions accordingly
Please note that payment with ATM Card incures more charges than paying through bank
Be informed that University of Ibadan acceptance fee is to be paid within the stipulated period as directed by the management of the institution as failure to comply means automatic forfeiture of admission.
